ITERA – Connecting Education, Research, and Industry
As organizations form, grow, and merge leaders are increasingly aware of the critical role that telecommunications plays in their success. With the convergence of voice, data, and video systems there is increasing demand for students who understand that legal and security issues must coexist with usability and accessibility issues as new services and systems are deployed. ITERA brings together a unique set of faculty, students, and industry professionals that work together to articulate important issues and plan ways to solve tomorrow’s challenges. This process includes examining and modifying curriculums, providing students with real-life experiential learning opportunities, creating forums for students to interact with faculty and professionals outside of the classroom, and a way to share expertise and equipment among participating members. Our annual conference is the primary vehicle for this collaboration. Each year the conference has grown and we have aligned with strategic partners to bring added value to our members. Our partnerships include the United States Telecommunications Association (USTA) and the Association for Information Communications Technology Professionals in Higher Education (ACUTA). Each year our conference includes research presentations, technology updates, a student case study competition, and the opportunity to meet and interact with fellow faculty, students, and industry professionals.
Regardless of whether telecommunications is an important aspect of your career or whether it is your sole passion and interest, ITERA is a valuable resource that will help you advance your knowledge and provide you with a valuable outlet to share your knowledge and experiences with others. Please consider joining us as we work to advance the future of telecommunications education and research.
